Club Championship
The Burnham Joggers Club Championship is a keenly contested league based on selected events over the Burnham Joggers Club year. The prize ceremony is held at the Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony.
Events cover a range of distances and surfaces, from a mile in the Beeches to your best marathon time at any event. Many are open events organised by other local clubs. Points are awarded based on your place amongst other Burnham Joggers competing with one point for first etc.
Your best 7 races count and the person with the fewest points wins. The full rules can be found at the top Club Championship Results spreadsheet.
Runners should wear club tops (except marathons) and must be entered as a Burnham Jogger.
Many new members haven’t ran competitive races before and the club championship is a great way to get involved in the club and track your progress.

Club Championship Update – July 2020
Copy of e-mail sent 3rd July 2020
Dear Members,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Your Committee have been continuing to meet (Via Zoom) once a month and one topic we discussed in detail last month was the Club Championship along with the Awards / Dinner Dance. We are really keen to have a viable Club Championship and I think we all need something nice to look forward to.
With the unhelpful weather and then the current restrictions, 4 events which made up the current Club Championship have been held.
We are already aware that the Datchet Cross Country will not be taking place in November (they are looking to run this in January or February) and it has just been announced that the Burnham Beeches Rotary 10k will be a Virtual event. (This is a great local event and even as a virtual we will be encouraging as many members as possible to take part).
Progress is being made with the arrangements of some smaller scale events which is hugely positive.
The general consensus is that the Club Championship should be made up of ‘actual’ events and not virtual’s. With this in mind, it has been agreed that the current Club Championship will be extended till the end of May 2021. We will then look at planning the Annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner Dance in June, a nice summer event where we can hopefully enjoy drinks outside.
This means the current Club Championship event list will be as below. Please note that all dates are TBC and are subject to change. Where an event is cancelled or postponed we will look at the alternative date or an alternative event. Our own club events will be fitted in at the most appropriate date.
