On the hottest day of the year, some amazing achievements and great performances too. First man home was David Bradford in 1:14:32. It wasn’t a day for a PB, yet some runners managed it, including 1st woman Sam Amend who beat her last year’s winning time with 1:21:55. Well done everybody and thank you to all the volunteers.

More thanks to the other individuals and organisations who made this a special day: Caldicott School, Burnham Beeches, Beeches Cafe, the overworked medical team from Southern Regional Ambulance, Cafe San Remo, Charlie Savigar Band, Raynet, Dick Hughes, FR Systems, South Bucks District Council, Thames Valley Police, Apex Sports, SCVAC, engraver Paul Kirkham, Pool Lifeguards, Pal Therapies Massage, Farnham Common JAWs, SportCam and more that I’ve missed.
Special thanks to the residents and businesses of Burnham Beeches who each year tolerate our road closures with patience and good humour.
Thanks to everyone at Burnham Joggers for organising the half marathon. It definitely wasn’t the best day to be running but if I had to run a race in this weather then Burnham Beeches would be the place to do it.
