Welcome To Burnham Joggers Running Club

Update 4th November 2020 from England Athletics

Following the UK Government’s new national COVID-19 restrictions and the publication of bespoke instructions from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), we have revised the current guidance for athletics and running.

From this Thursday [5 November 2020], the UK Government is requiring everyone in England to stay at home, except for specific purposes, and not gather with other people who do not live in the same household, again except for specific purposes. As a result, the impact on athletics and running will include suspension of all outdoor club group activity.

Why Not Come Join Us?

We are always delighted to welcome new members.

Being part of a club adds a new dimension to your running. New friendships form and it really helps to take your running forward whatever your goals might be.

Membership costs just £20 a year with new members being given a Burnham Joggers running top to wear with pride! Burnham Joggers also receive 10% discount at our two local specialist running stores, Runners Retreat in Marlow and Apex Sports in Farnham Common.

You will then be able to join in our member activities such as the summer 5k and winter cross country series plus our monthly staggered jog and take part in our club championship events.

You are welcome to come along and join us on a Tuesday or Thursday and run in one of our informal sessions to see if it’s for you.

There’s more information and the application form on the Joining Us page.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

We were pleased to be able to present a £1,000 donation to the South Bucks Riding for the Disabled Association yesterday.

We made several donations this year to distribute the surplus that we had generated from our events including Cliveden XC, Beaconsfield 5 and Burnham Beeches Half Marathon & 10k.

The charities were selected by members and in most cases were linked to members getting charity places in major marathons. In this case it was Mark Moore who can be seen in the photo with our Chairperson Yvette Buckingham.

As a member of Burnham Joggers it’s great to be involved with such things, and the donation to a member’s fundraising campaign goes a long way towards your fundraising commitment to run the London Marathon or another similar event.

The donation to the RDA was gratefully received with Yvette receiving this note of thanks -

Dear Yvette

Thank you very much for coming to present the cheque with Mark yesterday, it was a pleasure to meet you. It means so much that people outside of our organisation will raise much needed funds to help the disabled riders here and for you to know just how much it is appreciated. Theses are difficult times for small charities and your £1000 will help to feed the horses and ponies this winter

Many many thanks
Kind regards
Di Redfern
