Club Championship

The Burnham Joggers Club Championship is a keenly contested league based on selected events over the Burnham Joggers Club year. The prize ceremony is held at the Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony.

Events cover a range of distances and surfaces, from a mile in the Beeches to your best marathon time at any event. Many are open events organised by other local clubs. Points are awarded based on your place amongst other Burnham Joggers competing with one point for first etc.

Your best 7 races count and the person with the fewest points wins. The full rules can be found at the top of the Club Championship Results spreadsheet.

Runners should wear club tops (except in marathons) and must be entered in the race as a Burnham Jogger.

Many new members have not run competitive races before and the Club Championship is a great way to get involved in the club and track your progress.

You agree that we may publish your Personal Information as part of the results of the Event and may pass such information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, licences or for publishing results either for the event alone or combined with or compared to other events. Results may include (but not be limited to) name, any club affiliation, race times, occupation and age category.

Club Championship Update – May 2021

As a one off this year and to hopefully draw a line under COVID the Club Championship is running between June 2021 and October 2022.
We have used our historic events, looked at the 2021 Summer 5K schedule (a bit different to normal) and added both Marlow Half and Mapledurham Half for November 2021. We have also added a second marathon—so this means one to be run in 2021 and the other in 2022.
In total this gives us 27 events over the period. Given that we ask for 7 events out of a possible 17 for a normal year – a straight pro rata means 12 events need to be run in order to qualify to enter this year.
