The event is the Ickenham 5 which will be on September 15th and will start in the beautiful Swakeleys Park in Ickenham, Middlesex at 10am
It’s a 2 lap, 5 mile route that has a certificate of accuracy making it eligible for personal, club and even world records! There are just 2 metres of height difference between the highest and lowest points on the course which makes us think it’s the flattest 5 mile course in the UK. The existing 5 mile record, held by Rob Denmark, ran through Ickenham as did the 1908 Olympic Marathon.
Entries are filling fast and recently the 1983 London Marathon Winner Mike Gratton entered the event as well which is very exciting.
I would appreciate it if you could let your club members know about this event. I have attached our poster and have summarised the details below so you can copy and paste them easily
