Dear Runners,
this morning we inspected the race course again and completed the preparation work.
GOOD NEWS – based on the current conditions the RACE IS STILL GOING AHEAD TOMORROW (Sunday 5th). Though do expect very wet ground conditions.
BUT WE ARE FACING A CHALLENGING PARKING SITUATION – due to the vast amount of rain in the past 24h some of the car parking facility are under water. THEREFORE WE REQUEST WHERE AT ALL POSSIBLE PLEASE CAR SHARE!
While we have done our best to organize alternative parking areas, depending on how many car share, there is a possibility that the parking facilities will end up full.
WE ADVICE that you check this web site on race day morning for any last minute updates, just in case the weather condition worsen again over night.
For now we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and wish you a great race!

I bought x country shoes for this race. They have spikes to put on. When you say no spikes do mean use the shoes but don’t attach the spikes? I don’t understand. Please advise.

as the race takes place on National Trust grounds we must strictly follow their request not to allow any spikes. So unfortunately the answer to your question is that you will not be allowed to attach the spikes. Apologies for any inconvenience this might cause you.

I will update the statement now – for runners who prior to today have contacted us and have received a confirmation, they will be able to sign up on the day. As the car park situation changed from yesterday to this morning, due to the heavy rain, we had to make the decision to close registration for any new requests for ‘on the day entry’ too. So unless you’ve received a previous confirmation from us it will not be possible to enter on the day anymore.

I’ve already sent a message re:entry on the day but have just seen the above reply saying no entries on the day due to car park changes, my friend is already entered and driving I was coming along with her so no extra car from me. Does this still still apply?

I was also expecting to be able to enter on the day (and been training for it!) but just found these messages saying you can’t accept entries on the day due to car parking issues. If I can get dropped off can you consider making an exception for me?

Sorry to ask another question but I can’t see my earlier post and therefore don’t know if we (x2) have been accepted for on the day entry or not? Thanks in advance for a reply.

I am very sorry but due to the parking situation no new requests have been accepted after Friday 3rd, unless you can confirm your travel arrangements will NOT require a car parking space.

in that case you can register ‘on the day’ and I’ve passed on your name – there is no formal bag drop but you can leave it in the Orangerie (at owners risk) where Race HQ is located.
