Entries are coming in steadily for the Burnham Beeches half marathon on 21st August. All other arrangements are in hand and we are looking forward to another successful event. The race often sells out, so get your entry in soon to ensure your place.
Burnham Joggers members, whilst not excluded, are encouraged to step forward as volunteers for the myriad of tasks, in planning and on the day.
Whatever your role, you can be assured a memorable day in the ancient and beautiful woodland of Burnham Beeches and surrounding area. Burnham Joggers donate most of the profits from the half marathon to local charities, so you can feel good about your entry fee too. See https://burnhamjoggers.co.uk/about/charitable-giving/.
Burnham Joggers gratefully acknowledge the support of the Corporation of London, owners of Burnham Beeches, in the staging of this event.
How practical is it getting to the start of the half marathon by public transport pls? (I would be coming from West London). Thanks
Anne,
apologies for the delay in replying. Train service on the Paddington to Slough route are good, unfortunately at present the direct bus service from Slough Bus Station (next to railway station) to Farnham Common (which is at most 10 minutes walking distance to the race start) does not run on a Sunday.
You might be able to work out an alternative bus route, but it will mean covering a bigger distance on foot (e.g. Britwell to race start would be around 2 miles).
Slough Area bus details can be found here: https://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/berkshire_thames/journey_planning/
Hope this is of help – Nick
